I can't even count how many times I have been asked to make this simple fan favorite! With it's mouthwatering ingredients, this 5-7 layer dip is sure to please any crowd!
Dip layers:
Cream Cheese
Refried Beans
Ground Beef
Guacamole
Sour Cream
Salsa
Sharp Yellow Cheese
Of course all of these layers are optional and you can easily substitute any layer you'd like.
What you'll need:
16 oz. cream cheese (2 blocks)
1 pound of ground beef
16 oz. refried beans
2 tablespoons of milk (for the refried beans)
16 oz. guacamole (store bought works fine)
16 oz. sour cream
24 oz. salsa (drained)
1 two cup bag of sharp yellow cheese
1 medium-sized finely chopped onion
1 packet of taco seasoning
Salt/pepper
3-4 sliced green onions or fresh parsley (for garnish)
1 lasagna-sized baking pan or dish
Let's get started:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Lightly coat the bottom of a large skillet with olive oil and turn to sim. Once the olive oil has warmed, add in your finely chopped onions. Cook the onions down (still on sim) for 5-7 minutes or until slightly brown. Add in your ground beef, seasoning with a little salt and pepper and cook at a medium heat until brown. Drain the excess fat, add your taco seasoning packet to the meat and one cup of water. Mix the ingredients around to make sure the meat is seasoned evenly. Let the meat simmer for another five minutes and then cool for 10 minutes.
If you are adding refried beans, you will want to mix with two tablespoons of milk to add a creaminess.
While your ground beef cools, let's begin the layering process.
Spread the following layers evenly in lasagna-sized baking pan.
Cream cheese
Refried beans
Ground beef
Guacamole
Sour cream
Salsa
Sharp Yellow Cheese
Green onions or fresh parsley (garnish)
Bake your dip for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is completely melted. Cool for 10-15 minutes and enjoy with some delicious tortilla chips!
